Ode to the Crow by Kagitsune Ode to the Crow by Kagitsune
A design project for 2nd semester Fashion Art and Design. 5 original outfits, including 2 suits and 3 coats.

After being introduced to the work of the Japanese "greats" such as Yohji Yamamoto and Rei Kawakubo, I've been heavily influenced by their late-70s/early 80s "crow tribe" (aka karasu-zoku) styles. I love the idea of "design, not decoration". Perhaps this is a reaction to my number of years pursuing the more Lolita, Dior-ish ideals of lace-encrustation and haute couture. I'm just going with it at this point.

I love the idea of the "office hakama" the central running figure is wearing. I might take it upon myself to devise some for the upcoming fall season...

And yes, that's tape in the background forming the decaying shoji... >: D

Advanced critique is requested and welcomed. (And yes, I know miss second-from-left's head is tiny)

Thank you! I love your description. I always try to "be real" and convey emotion when I design/illustrate fashion. ^^
