Lalala... It's the long-promised Dragon Dress! I got the fabric because it was so beautiful and reminded me of full-back Japanese tattoos (I guess the fabric's name ("tatsu") helped with that. xD). I finished this in early April in hopes of submitting it for the WEWY contest, but my internet wouldn't work when I wanted to submit it! :cries:

Anyway, ignore the god-awful excuse for a "petticoat" I'm wearing there. It's just a stand-in for until I order a real one from In the Starlight. ^^

I hope to make this a part of a slightly unconventional wa-loli ensemble for A-Kon this year. I'll be adding a simple blouse underneath and perhaps a light cardigan on top. I plan to do my hair in its naturally curly style (i.e. not fro-like like it is after 3 days of not shampooing it). I also just finished making a matching bow for it, accented with black brocade and faux pearls! ^^ Hizaki-hime (of Versailles, A-Kon's headlining band this year) would be proud. ^^v

Info on materials/resources in the picture. Please leave Advanced Critique, because I want to know if I can change anything before the con. ^^v

Many thanks to Erin of DressADay.com for the pattern-choosing help. ^^

:D Thanks so much! Yeah, I'm glad that I decided to be patient with this dress and practice the pattern (which I made following instructions from a Japanese goth-loli pattern magazine ^^) on cheap muslin cotton fabric before-hand. I wasn't about to cut into fabric that gorgeous without being sure it would look right! >: D

I love this kind of dress/style because it works well for several different body types. Big hips? Small hips? No problem! You'll be adorable all the same. :)
