I've enjoyed the freedom of posting my experiments and works-in-progress over at the blog
forgottendoll.wordpress.com , but I've missed the community. Seeing
thx4everything at A-Kon and being greeted by a month-old notes from
MOONDOGPROD1 and
AtariPunk633 reminded me of how much I loved it here. Freedom is lonely.
I'm at a loss though... most of my works are muslin prototypes, hardly anything you could call "finished". Most of the Artisan Crafts>Textiles>Clothing category is corsetry and screen printing, and Designs and Interfaces>Fashion is mostly pretty little fashion figures. I suppose I could post my work and stand out from the crowd, but I would not get the same educated feedback I already get at StyleZeitgeist and Fashion-Incubator.
I do not want to sound cold, but will it be worth my time to format and present my work for DA?
I can think of one thing... I have met so many wonderful photographers, poets, artisans, and makers of every sort here, of a variety I will never find outside DA. And I would love to work with some of you some day soon.
I think most of my old friends will find my aesthetic much changed... I have not worn Lolita in about 6 months. Most of what I wear and create these days is almost the opposite... structured, minimalist experiments in shades of black, gray, and tan. (And yet I keep thinking of how that Comme Des Garcons sweater just might look amazing with the Baby jumperskirt, if just given the chance... )
I'll upload one of my design boards to show you what I mean.
I love you all dearly, and I've missed you. I'd love the chance to talk to you again.
