... waiting for an airplane to take me to NYC.
I spent the last three days with my Eli, enjoying a few choice moments before we parted ways yet again. Two more years... then we can be together.
I remember my dear DA family... and how much all of you supported and encouraged me a year and a half ago, when I was beginning to question my chosen field. Would I stick with civil engineering? Or would I take the plunge and go for fashion design? Some of you reminded me not to make the decision lightly. I thought, prayed, talked, and cried into Eli's arms and to God. It took an incredible trip to Japan, and, in some ways, my father's last words to me, to push me towards this crazy dream of mine.
Now I'm almost there. I've finished my first complete design project (Marquis of Vaudeville stage costumes) before my first class. My best friends and I are all finally moving towards what we were each designed for. I found out what a real family is like. And I confirmed how much I love Eli.
Yeah, I'm still looking for a job. No, I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do it. But I have love and family and God, and that's all I need.
Thank you so much for praying for me, thinking about me, and talking with me over the intertubes. You all are so precious to me, and I think about you every day. Thank you, thank you...

So I'm a fashion designer now
and I make clothes.
Haven't made a costume in about 3 years...
That's okay tho, because I went into FIT thinking I wanted to do costume design and lolita... and now I design with an actual market in mind. (Namely monied people who work in creative fields). My time there totally shifted my interests.
Funny enough, I've been going thru some of my oooooold sketches (pre-high school), and I see, under all the frills and fangirling, something that actually resembles what I'm designing now. Apparently I was interested in 3D, avant-garde design back then too. :J
There isn't much of an audience for me here on DA. Most of my personal work's been g
Seeing who's still around
I regained access to my account after several years' absence.
Who's still on here regularly?
I'm mostly on tumblr these days. evennerdierthanthou
Maybe see you there.
Tagg\'ed.
Working (i.e. procrastinating from) a few personal and paid projects. Moar later.
Ten interesting things about me.
1. I am a bandwagon Doctor Who fan.
2. My favorite fashion designer is Yohji Yamamoto.
3. I am engaged to my only boyfriend ever. :3
4. I used to be really into Lolita and Visual Kei, but now I want to make minimal clothing and listen to weird experimental garage tunes. x3
5. I am catching up on pop/fashion/geek culture VERY SLOWLY.
6. I hate no-one, not even my mother.
7. Most things I love I've only seen/heard a little of. Like Cowboy Bebop. Or the Gorillaz.
8. I do not want to want to be famous (sic).
9. I can't stan
It's been forever...
I've enjoyed the freedom of posting my experiments and works-in-progress over at the blog http://forgottendoll.wordpress.com , but I've missed the community. Seeing thx4everything (https://www.deviantart.com/thx4everything) at A-Kon and being greeted by a month-old notes from MOONDOGPROD1 (https://www.deviantart.com/moondogprod1) and AtariPunk633 (https://www.deviantart.com/ataripunk633) reminded me of how much I loved it here. Freedom is lonely.
I'm at a loss though... most of my works are muslin prototypes, hardly anything you could call "finished". Most of the Artisan Crafts>Textiles>Clothing category is corsetry and screen printing, and Designs and Interfaces>Fashion is mostly pretty little fashion figures. I suppose I could post my work and stand out fr
